The Templately AI Editor lets you change a page by describing what you want, right inside Elementor or the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg). Ask it to rewrite text, change colors and spacing, move sections or add a new section from the Templately library. This guide shows you how to open the Templately AI Editor, ask for changes that work, and claim your free AI credits.
Before you start
- Templately 3.9.0 or newer is installed and you are signed in. See how to install Templately.
- Your page or post is built with Elementor or the block editor. The classic editor is not supported.
- You have Templately AI credits. New users can claim free credits, as shown below.
The Templately AI Editor is in Alpha
It is still being tested and can make mistakes. Check the page before you save.
What is the Templately AI Editor? #
It is a chat panel that sits next to your page in the editor. You type a request in plain words, and it edits the page for you. Every change shows on the canvas first, so you can keep it, ask for a tweak or undo it.
| What you can ask for | Example request |
| Rewrite any text | Rewrite the heading to sound friendlier |
| Change how it looks | Make the button purple with rounded corners |
| Move things around | Move the FAQ section to the bottom |
| Add new sections | Add a pricing section below the features |
How to get free AI credits #
Every request uses Templately AI credits. If you have a verified Templately account and have never used the AI Editor, you can claim 50 free AI credits once, while the offer runs.
- They never expire. Free credits join your AI credit balance.
- They work on every Templately AI feature, including AI site generation.
- No card needed.
Option 1: From the AI Editor panel #
- Open the Templately AI Editor on any page, as shown in Step 1.
- On the empty chat, find the Try the AI Editor free card (1).
- Click Claim 50 credits (2). The credits are added to your balance right away.

Tip
Clicked Not now by mistake? The card comes back in your next browser session, until you claim the credits.
Option 2: From templately.com #
- Go to the Templately AI Editor page.
- Click Claim 50 credits and sign in to your Templately account.
You may also see a Meet the new Templately AI Editor message in the Templately library. Its Claim 50 free credits button opens the same page.
Step 1: Open the Templately AI Editor #
You can open it from three places.
In Elementor #
Open the page with Edit with Elementor. In the top bar, click the colorful Templately AI icon (1). The chat panel opens next to the page.

In the block editor (Gutenberg) #
Open the page in the block editor. In the top bar, click Edit with Templately AI (1), next to the Templately menu.

From the Pages list #
Go to Pages (or Posts), hover over a page and click Edit with Templately AI (1).

The page opens in a focused view with only the canvas and the chat (1). Your normal editor still runs underneath, so saving works the same way. Click Go to Editor (2) to switch to the full editor, or Exit to WordPress to leave.

Step 2: Ask for a change #
- Type what you want in the Ask for a change… box and press Enter. You can also click one of the suggested requests to get started.
- To aim at one section, type @ in the box (1) and pick the section from the list (2).
- To aim at one element, select it on the page and choose Add to Templately AI context from its toolbar or right-click menu.

The panel shows what it is doing, such as Reading the page… and Making the changes…, then tells you what changed.
Step 3: Review, undo or save #
When the edit is done, the panel tells you what changed (1) and offers a Save page button (2).

- Keep it: ask for the next change, or tweak this one, for example “a little smaller”.
- Undo it: press Ctrl+Z on Windows or ⌘+Z on Mac, or use the editor Undo button.
- Save it: click Save page in the panel, or your editor Save button. Nothing changes on your live site until you save.
Header and footer changes affect every page
Before it changes your site header or footer, the AI Editor asks you to confirm with Yes, apply it site-wide.
Add ready-made sections from the library #
Ask for a section by name, such as “Add a testimonials section below the hero”. The panel shows matching designs from the Templately library. Click Preview to take a closer look, or Select to add it to your page.
- Free plugins that a section needs are installed for you before it is added.
- Pro sections need a Templately Pro plan. On the free plan, the panel shows an Upgrade subscription link instead.
Pro plugins are not installed for you
If a section needs a Pro plugin, such as Essential Addons Pro, install it yourself so the section shows in full.
Tips for better results #
- Point at what you mean. Use @ or Add to Templately AI context so the edit lands exactly there.
- Be specific. “Make the button #5632d1 with 12px rounded corners” works better than “make it nicer”.
- One change at a time. Short requests are faster, use fewer credits and are easier to check.
- Review before you save. Look over the canvas, undo anything you do not want, then save.
What if you run out of credits? #
When your balance reaches zero, the panel tells you and does not try the edit. Buy more AI credits from your Templately account, or choose a plan with AI credits.
